Pouty is the solo project of Rachel Gagliardi, formerly of Slutever and Upset. Pouty's debut EP, "Take Me To Honey Island" (out via Gagliardi’s own Bratty Records) released in 2016, was followed up with the EP "Saint Mary of the Moods” last July. Pouty’s brand new
release, "Adulting/Not For You", finds Gagliardi working once again with producer Al Creedon (Control Top) and drummer Ricardo Lagamasino (Lucy Dacus). Written and recorded in Philadelphia, both tracks are reminiscent of Gagliardi’s earlier work in her punk projects-heavy pop songs with snarky, repeated lyrics about self doubt, depression, and combating (inner and outer) criticism.
The album’s artwork by artist Grace Miceli, brings the listener into the pastel dream world of Pouty, sickeningly sweet imagery wrapped around melancholic bedroom musings. The single drops digitally November 9, 2018, collaboratively released on Get Better and Bratty Records.
Pouty has appeared on bills alongside Potty Mouth, Mannequin Pussy, Allison Crutchfield, Mitski, Swanning, Pinkish, and Harmony Tividad (of Girlpool). Pouty lives in Southern California, where the mountains meet the desert, with her spouse and their pup Shrimp Toast.

Ache (#2) said it all!!! The ones I love are spread so far apart, on the map and in my heart. Alien Boy makes music that makes me feel like there’s no point in writing songs because someone already said everything I wanted to say. They rock and you should listen to them. daisyleaf

Up there with Joe's best -- it feels like it pulls from every record he's done before while still being completely distinct from any Cymbals record in the way it combines the psychedelia and accessibility with some of the lushest, most ornately arranged music I've heard. Plus the guitars still rock, the solos fucking slap, and the ballads somehow slap just as hard. The narrative based lyrics also hit a sweet spot in Joe's lyricism -- direct but inventive, descriptive and endlessly compelling. Emmanuel Castillo
